Crash/FAD Diets are SH@!$

So how to lose a stone in 21 days - what a load of shite!!

Channel 4 seems to think it's ok to promote crash diet! Please, Please do not give these FAD/Crash diets a go, will you lose weight quickly over a short period yes BUT I guarantee you'll put it all back on PLUS more!!

1. Crash diets can make you feel ill, you'll consume very little calories making you feel tired and you'll be missing out on so many nutrients your body needs to function that we get from eating the right foods. 2. You'll probably end up cutting a large food group out of your diet like wheat, fish, meat or dairy products. Your body needs a balanced diet in order to get all the nutrients it needs to function. You can lose weight without cutting any food groups out of your diet. 3. No Carb diets will be high in fat, your body's main source of energy comes from carbohydrates. If you cut these out of your diet yes you will weight initially as you will lose a lot of water, to cut carbs means you'll find that you will eat more fats and saturated fat especially - this will lead to an increase in cholesterols. Carbohydrates don't make you fat the overall amount of calories you eat per day does! 4. Detox diets don't work! There is no such thing as a build up of toxins otherwise why aren't you constantly ill? Stop wasting your money on detox teas! The only reason you'll lose weight as with any of these is that they reduce your calorie intake. 5. There is little science backed evidence that any of these FAD diets actually work. They aren't sustainable, they put you in a very restrictive calorie deficit which let's face makes you completely miserable whist you are doing it and they are for such short periods of time that you are just going to lose water not fat!!

If you want to lose weight then do it properly, regular exercise and a moderate calorie deficit consisting of a balanced diet. This is the best way to lose weight and keep it off, it's not for the short term and has to be changes that you are willing to make for the rest of your life should you want to keep the weight off for good.
